Before there was one dominate religion, but today there are thousands of religions with different gods, so whom are we going to follow? If there are so many religions, which one is right? Who are believers going to look up to?
After thinking about this, the only answer I could find was the prophets, but Gods and Prophets are so different. Prophets accept they are regular people with a specific mission, while Gods are supreme, they are from a much more advanced society, and have powers. After all, the main difference is, the gods explain why we are this way, so they turned out to be models of humans in a larger scale. Meanwhile, prophets are only guides that advice you how to live your life.
Therefore, gods can explain prophets by the way they act, and prophets can advice gods how to live, and make them recognize their mistakes.
“Job is a good man, but God makes him suffer. To test his faith.
“I remember.”
Takes away everything he has, his money, his family…
“His health.”
Makes him sick.
“To test his faith.”
Right. To test his faith. So, I’m wondering…
“What are you wondering?”
What you think about that?
Morrie coughs violently. His hands quiver as he drops them by his side.
“I think,” he says, smiling, “God overdid it.” (Tuesdays With Morrie. Mitch Albom. Pg.151)
While I was reading Diana and Actaeon, I was thinking what if prophets were present? What would they tell Diana? What would they say to Actaeon? If the prophet present was Jesus I’m sure he would say, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Meaning, that Diana shouldn’t turn Actaeon into an animal because it was a mistake that he intruded her house, but also Actaeon shouldn’t be so cruel while he hunts, because he found out how much pain he caused.
